Actor for Billy Boy
Architect, Actor and Poet
Andrew Rea is a poet who mesmerises audiences. His innumerable regional accents, colourful costumes and traditional characters bringing English folk history to life.
As an actor and retired architect who lives and breathes radical tradition, Rea clearly strides the British boards with passion. Hence, a variety of critics have said his stagecraft eloquently distils ancient themes into new and challenging forms; often through unusual props and performed mime.
Also, his insightful translation of Anglo-Saxon original texts continues to earn him the reputation of an artistic innovator across London. Particularly as a regular participant at venues like Gruntlers, and the Poetry Café, wherein his enthusiastic recitals are always warmly received.
In recent years, Rea has even appeared in a stage production of 'Shakespeare in Ten Scenes both Serious and Tragic' by Azerbaijani playwright Elchin, along with numerous commercials including the Phones 4u advertisements playing the role of Billy Boy.
